LuAnn Moon Cawthon

luannOwner, Designer, Pattern Maker, & Head Seamstress at Dazzler Design Group has more than twenty-five years work experience in the Apparel Industry.  LuAnn provides hands on attention to detail on each and every Dazzler Couture Costume.  “I love the entire creative process, starting from just a sketch and measurements to the finished costume.  Costuming is my passion; I take great pride in attention to details.”

LuAnn was introduced to the Garment Industry at a very young age by both of her grandmothers; together they owned The Sewing Center in Lavonia, Georgia where they sewed for the public, sold fabric, notions, and McCall’s/Vogue style patterns.  At the age of fifteen LuAnn began taking private fashion design lessons from Baroness Liliana A.M. Caprara, a couture designer from West Palm Beach, Florida. Ms. Liliana instructed her on how to measure a person, make a pattern using the measurements, sew the garment, and fit it to that person.  LuAnn received an Associate of Arts Degree in Fashion Design from Bauder Fashion College in Atlanta, Georgia.  Training included Flat Pattern, Pattern Draping, Garment Construction, and Illustration.  Upon graduating from Bauder she was employed at the Hartwell Company in Hartwell, Georgia as a Pattern Grader and Pattern Maker.  In 1994, LuAnn started her own freelance apparel business, providing design consultant, pattern making, grading, specifications, illustration, alteration, and sewing services to over fifty different clients.
